Recent Victories
- HealthFirst – Signed into law in 2008, An Act Relative to New Hampshire HealthFirst, an affordable, wellness-based health insurance plan for small employers (SB 540), created an affordable, comprehensive and wellness-based insurance plan for the small business community.
- Young Adult Health Retention Law – Signed into law in 2007, An Act Relative to Dependent Coverage for Health Insurance (HB 790) allows young adults to stay on their parents’ NH-licensed health insurance coverage up to age 26. An attempt to rescind this legislation was defeated in 2008.
- Divorce Health Access Law – Signed into law in 2007, An Act Relative to Continuation of Group Health Insurance in the Event of Divorce or Legal Separation (SB 197) allows divorced spouses to remain on their ex-spouse’s insurance coverage for up to 3 years. An attempt to rescind this legislation was defeated in 2008.
